Review of the Movie Blue Kite

It is an incredible film that is not only able to reveal the political side of the beginning of the Cultural Revolution, but also manages to make it seem personal. The writer did a good job of not making it melodramatic. On the other hand, he also didn't alter the ending so that it mended all the problems unrealistically. I thought it was a very truthful film. However, the idea of the kite was unclear. I realize that the kite symbolized a hope of freedom that was passed down through the generations, but the fact that there seemed to be very little emphasis on it made it seem less important. Overall, however, I enjoyed the movie.

I think that the way they handled all the people who were against the revolution were wrong. They shouldn't have beaten people up or thrown the sick and weak into jail. They should have been more understanding and should have been more scaring for other people. speaking out for your rights is one thing, but purposely executing all the other people's opinions was wrong. The way they beat up the little about was disturbing and unmoral. Although a lot of good came out of the Cultural Revolution, a lot of bad came out of it too. They shouldn't have touched the women and children and should have been a little more gentle to the men. I believe the movie was a good way of showing that not all the things that happed to the world was good. There i another side to it, just like there is almost always another side to everything. In the movies that we've seen, and even read, portrayed the Cultural Revolution as the best thing that happened to China, and all the people, such as the teachers and the big business men, were evil. But as we have seen in this movie, that's not true. In fact, most of them were good and was just good at making a living. The people with lower wages hold that against them. They would not even listen to the wife when she tried to tell them and he was sick and was a comrade. I think there should be more movie s like this one to show people what really goes on in the world, that not everything people do is heroic as they think.

The movie "Blue Kite" uses a very unique technique of capturing the history of China. The use of Tietou’s perspective on the events taking place around him is important in understanding China at the time. In addition to the state of China, the movie effectively portrays the growth of Tietou and the obstacles he and his family encounter and overcome. The ending is dissatisfying because it ends somewhat abruptly and does not conclude the story well. However, all in all, "Blue Kite" is an excellent portrayal of China and family struggles.
