DISCIPLINE

 “If you’re around trouble . . .you’re in trouble”
Jack K. Onstott

Members of the New Trier Boy's Swimming And Diving TEAM are expected to follow The New Trier Athletic Code of Conduct at all times.  Discipline will be conducted in accordance with the code except when TEAM expectations are stricter.  The athletic code must be read and signed by all  athletes and their parents at a special meeting held at the start of the season.   A copy of the code is provided at the back of this handbook.  Violation of any of the TEAM expectations found in this handbook will be dealt with in the following manner:

FIRST VIOLATION:  The athlete is reprimanded.

SECOND VIOLATION:  A conference will be held with the athlete.  At this time the exact requirements for the athletes continued participation on  the Swimming and Diving TEAM will be outlined.  A copy of  these requirements will be forwarded to the Athletic Director and one will be sent to the athlete's parents.  Junior and Senior athletes may be sent back to Kinetic Wellness Class.

THE NEXT VIOLATION:  Will result in dismissal from the TEAM.  The use of alcohol, drugs and tobacco are detrimental to you as an athlete, are in violation of the New Trier Athletic Code and are against the law.  Committing these acts are serious offenses and will put an athlete in jeopardy of immediate dismissal from the TEAM.  Stealing, lying, vandalism and other illegal acts would also result in possible dismissal from the TEAM.  In those cases the procedure for dealing with discipline listed above would NOT apply.
