2010 Coaching Staff

Pete Collins, Varsity Head Coach

Coach Collins has coached for 15 years at New Trier, this is his 9th year as head coach. He will be coaching the midfielders this year and coordinating the offense. He has coached the Great Lakes National Team at the U.S. Lacrosse National Tournament and currently serves at the Midwest Super Region Chair the U.S. Lacrosse High School Coaches Council. He also serves as the president of the Illinois High School Women's Lacrosse Association and has been recognized four times as the Illinois Coach of the Year. He also helps coach the Trevian Youth Lacrosse Club and has previously coaches at Amonte Sports Camps at Northwestern. He is the Kinetic Wellness Department Coordinator at the Northfield campus. He and his wife Brooke have two children, Will (Bubba) and Abby.

Kristen Murray, Assistant Varsity Coach

Coach Murray has been coaching for six years at New Trier at the varsity level and in summer program. She coaches the low defenders and coordinates the defense. Before joining the Trevians, she was a varsity assistant coach for eight years at Shaker Heights High School in Ohio. She is also a US Lacrosse Coaching Instructor who leads clinics for coaching certification around the country. She is also the founder and director of the Trevian Youth Lacrosse Club for 3rd - 8th grade girls through the Wilmette Park District. Prior to coaching, she played lacrosse at Brown University and grew up in Baltimore. She and her husband Todd have three children, Kelsey, Gus and Lucy.

Matt Koulentes, Assistant JV Coach

Coach Koulentes is in his fourth year of coaching lacrosse at New Trier. He has coached at the JV level and this is his first year working on the varsity staff, coaching the attackers.. He is a teacher in the Special Education department at the Winnetka campus and also coaches wrestling.

Darrin Jeziorski, Head JV Coach

Coach Jeziorski is entering his ninth year of coaching, both at the varsity and JV levels. He also coaches girls' cross country in the fall. He is an art and sculpture teacher at New Trier and has spent a year in England on a Fullbright Scholarship. He and his wife Jen have two children, Mason and Emerson.

James Borja, Assistant Freshmen B Coach

Coach Borja will be coaching in his third year in the lacrosse program. A New Trier alumn, he is a teaching assistant in the New Trier Learning Center and also coaches football. This is his first year coaching at the JV level.

Stephanie Raue , Head Freshmen A Coach

Coach Raue has been coaching for seven years at New Trier. She is also coaches in the summer lacrosse program. She teaches at Wilmette Junior High and also coaches field hockey for New Trier. Before coaching at New Trier, she coached lacrosse at Neuqua Valley High School and played college club lacrosse at the University of Illinois.

Mike Kanke, Assistant Freshmen A Coach

Coach Kanke is in his fourth year of coaching for the Trevians. He teaches fitness and health in the Kinetic Wellness Department at the Northfield campus. He also coaches wrestling at New Trier and has coached boys' lacrosse at Schaumburg High School before coming to New Trier.

Carrie Sowa , Head Freshmen B Coach

Coach Sowa is in her fourth year of coaching lacrosse for the Trevians. She has been the head girls' basketball coach at New Trier and has coached girls' volleyball. She is the Athletic Coordinator at the Northfield campus and teaches Biology in the Science Department.

Tyler Reimer, Assistant Freshman B Coach

Coach Reimer is the newest member of the girls lacrosse staff. He was recruited from the girls' basketball staff after coaching at the freshman, sophomore and varsity levels. Tyler is an instructional assistant in Special Education and also coaches boys' golf.

Rachel Oberlander, Volunteer Coach

Coach Oberlander is in her fourth year of coaching the goalies at New Trier. A New Trier alum who started for two years in the cage for the Trevians and also helped start a club lacrosse team at DePaul University in Chicago. She also coaches hockey and is currently taking classes at Northeastern Illinois University.
